PUNCHES AND JULEPS, COBBLERS AND SMASHES,
TO MAKE THE TONGUE WAGGLE WITH WIT'S MERRY FLASHES.
(Sign displayed in Harry Hill's Bar in New York City, Late 1800's)

New York City is a great big cocktail full of ingredients from around the world. As the metropolis has expanded so have the range of libations found throughout its ever-changing neighborhoods. From the five boroughs come five recipes out of The Joy Of Mixology by Gary Regan, with ingredients found at PJ's. Because if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

According to his website: "The world famous Long Island Iced Tea was first created by me, Robert Butt, while I was tending bar at the infamous Oak Beach Inn. My concoction was an immediate hit and quickly became the house drink at the OBI. By the mid-1970's every bar on LI was serving up this innocent looking cocktail, and by the 1980's it was known the world over."
1 ounce Gin
1 ounce Light Rum
1 ounce Vodka
1 ounce White Tequila
1 ounce Triple Sec
1 ounce Sweet Lemon Juice
3/4 ounce simple syrup
Cola
